FLOWER FAIRIES DECOUPAGE MOTHER'S DAY CARDS

Hello Everyone!

I can't believe that I have not updated my blog for 6 months - after making such a good start with my blogging and gaining a few followers.  I have lots to tell you, so if you have time grab yourself a cuppa and bear with me for a few minutes.

As you may or may not know,  my Mother-in-Law had cancer of the lung lining.  Sadly at the end of February she died after a 16 month battle.  It has been 11 weeks since her death and we are as a family trying to come to terms with what has happened.  It has been a desperately sad time and we miss her very much.  I decided to take a break from my blog for a little while but I will gradually get back into it over the next couple of months.

Anyway, I have lots of new items listed in my Ebay store Black Cat Scrapbooking (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Black-Cat-Scrapbooking) from the latest Spellbinders dies to Martha Stewart punches and more.

I am showing two cards today that I made for Mother's Day a few years back using Flower Fairies Decoupage Kits.  I'm not sure of the names of the individual fairies but I love these and so did my Mum and Mother in Law.

Card and Envelope I made for my Mum

Supplies used:-

Patterned Papers - K&Co, Papermania
Flower Fairies Decoupage Kit
Embossing Folder - Fiskars
Glossy Accents
Black Corner Peel-Offs - Local Craft Store
Coloured Adhesive Stones - Papermania

Card and Envelope I made for my Mother-In-Law

I loved making both of these cards and my Mother-in Law really appreciated all of the hard work I put into my efforts.  I really miss making her a card.

  3. Hi Sarah. I am very sorry to hear about your mother in law. I lost my uncle only a few days ago. He had never married and we were all very close to him. He also had cancer of the lungs. It is so sad when these things happen.

Your cards are beautiful - both of them - but I do have a soft spot for the lovely lilac colour.

  8. Hi Sarah, Such sad news about your mother-in-law, so much to think about at the time and then you feel rather empty (that's how I felt when we lost both my father-in-law and then my dad only a month later last year). Our memories tend to be very precious. Your fairy cards are gorgeous and love the matching envelopes. Good to see you back in blogland! Helen

  10. Hi Sarah,
So sorry to read your sad news about your mother-in-law. It's hard to deal with at first, the first year is the hardest with all the anniversaries, birthdays and Christmas. But it does get easier. I lost both my parents to this horrible disease. My dad a brain tumour and my mum died from bone cancer after having lots of radio therapy treatment for skin and breast cancer.

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a kind comment. Take care! xx

  13. Oh dear Sarah .. . just got your follow on comment.

What a terrible year you are having.

It is always hard to accept the suffering and loss of our loved ones .. .. but to have to cope with it happening in such close succession must be near on unbearable. I feel for you so much. You must be totally drained.

I hope some of that stress goes soon.

Sending you love and tight cyber hugs

    Love Jules xx
