IRIS FOLDING HEART CARD AND PICTURES FROM SATSCRAP CROP

Hi Bloggers

It's been so hot this week so I thought I'd take time out from the computer and start painting my kitchen instead.  I've got as far as finishing the ceiling!  OMW!  Wasn't I suffering from heat exhaustion!  It does look so much better though!

I have a picture of a card that I am going to give to my parents for their 39th anniversary tomorrow.  I made this card ages ago with the ACL class I was teaching at the time.  It features a hand cut aperture which is then filled with iris folding!

Supplies Used:-

Black Pearlescent Card - The Paper Mill Shop
Heart Shaped Template - I used the large Sizzix Heart which I drew around and then cut out the aperture
Pearl Papers - Craftwork Card Blox
Patterned Paper - DCWV
Gingham (Yee Ha!)  Ribbon - The Craft Fairy

Pictures of the SatScrap Crop at The Rest, Porthcawl:-

Sue, Christine, Jeanette and Sharon

We had a fabulous 6 hour Scrapbooking crop arranged by Sharon at the lovely venue The Rest, Rest Bay, Porthcawl.

I got to do a demo, but at the moment I still haven't finished the layout I was doing so you'll have to wait for that.

Thanks for looking!

PREPARATIONS FOR SCRAPBOOKING DEMO

I am so sorry that I haven't been around for most of this week!  I have tried to comment a bit but haven't posted.  The first three days of this week it did nothing but pour down here in South Wales and I can tell you that didn't do anything for my self motivation!

I'm going to my first scrapbooking crop this Saturday.  It's being organised by Sharon who was one of my ACL Managers.  The crop is being held at The Rest which is convalescence home in the seaside town of Porthcawl which is about 10 miles from my house.  It starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm.  There are going to be 10 ladies at the crop most of whom I go to scrapbooking classes on a Thursday morning with.  Sharon has asked me to do a demonstration in an attempt to sell some of the stock that I'm holding so I have chosen to make a scrapbooking layout using only 1 set of Spellbinders dies the Classic Octagons.  I have started to prep my pieces for the layout - preparation picture below and I will post the finished layout and some photos from the crop  on Saturday.

These are a few of the preparation pieces.  I intend on covering the whole background with the octagon pieces then putting the little octagons in the diamond shaped gaps between the octagons.
I haven't done many layouts with only myself in the photo.  Most are of the most scrapbooked boy in the world - Sam!   Not sure what I'm going to tile this!  Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

This photo was taken at a Hotel in Swindon where I was away for the weekend on a scrapbooking retreat!

Hope you like my preparations so far!

Just to let you know I have a few Memory Box dies listed in my Ebay Store.  They are the following:

WINTERLAND TREE

FLOWERING CHRISTMAS TREE

FROSTYVILLE BORDER

SNOWFLAKE BAUBLE

If you haven't tried Memory Box dies before they are extremely high quality and amazing designs.
They are made from 100% Craft Steel and can be used on the following:
Cardstock
Felt
Fabric
Shrink Plastic

Use as you would a Spellbinders Die:
Cut
Stencil
Emboss

Thanks for all of your recent wonderful comments I love to read them!

Have a good evening

TWINS CARD MADE WILL QUILLING TECHNIQUE

Hi Bloggers

Hope you are all having a great weekend!  I haven't been doing anything special!  Watching a bit of the tennis!  Doing some ironing!  Listing some new products in my Ebay store, etc!  I might finish of a scrapbooking layout this evening if I get round to it!  I've had a sore eye this weekend, its slightly puffy underneath as well so I don't know if it's an infection or a draught has caught it!

Anyway, I would like to welcome my new followers and also thank the followers who commented on my last post for their well wishes to my MIL.

The card I'm going to post today I made exactly 2 years ago for Paul's cousin who had Twin girls!

I tried a jaunty arty way of photographing this card - not sure if it worked or not!

Supplies Used:-

Computer and Printer
A4 White Linen Card - The Papermill Shop
Quilling Tool - Local Craft Store
Quilling Pattern - I Think I Got This Off The Internet For Free - Not Sure Which Site
Tacky Glue
Organza Ribbon - From Stash

I computer generated the text and printed it onto an A4 sheet which I then cut down to make a 6" square card!

I then quilled 2 pairs of feet and stuck them to the card using tacky glue as a centre-piece to the card.

Added a piece of pink organza ribbon to finish!

It was a quite an easy card to make.  The quilling can be a bit fiddly but I think the overall effect is good!

As always I always appreciate and love to receive your comments!

BABY BOY TEDDY CARD

Hi Bloggers

So sorry I haven't posted much this week, I've been up to my eyeballs in it again!

Sam is home from his football tour which took him from South Wales all the way to Perth in Scotland for 4 days last Thursday till Monday just gone!  He was camping all the time he was there so when he returned Monday I had a Medium suitcase and a large kit bag full of dirty smelly washing which I didn't manage to get started till yesterday as the weather has been so bad here and I like to hang my washing on the line.

This morning my MIL had an appointment at the hospital to have the results of her blood test to see where she is with her cancer.  The specialist told her that the cancer cells in her blood were up a bit and wants her to have another scan.  She finished an 18 week 6 session course of Chemotherapy at the end of March.  The specialist told her that she would have to start another course sooner rather than later so I took her a bunch of flowers round this afternoon because we were hoping that the specialist would say see you in another 3 months but she is so determined and she is trying to think positively but I'm sure that this would be such a kick in the teeth for her!

Today I'm posting a card that I have given to Paul's cousin who had a baby boy last Thursday!

Front View of Card:-

Inside View of Card:-

Supplies Used:-

Gingham Card - I printed of the Internet but cannot remember what site I used
White Hammered A4 Card - The Paper Mill Shop
WS Teddy Template
Circle Punch
Holographic Sparkle Peel Off Borders
Making Memories SAM ribbon
Velvet Alphabet - I had to change the S to a J
3d Foam Pads
Brads - Dovecraft - I think

I made this card with my class whilst I was teaching Adult Community Learning.  It is more challenging than it looks.

Anyway Hope you like it and as always I would love to receive your comments!
